What is a Flying Club?
Redbird Flight + Social Club is a social club for aviation enthusiasts. The club is registered with the State of Texas as a non-profit corporation and has a board of directors who provide oversight of the club. The club provides affordable access to planes for its members, along with a social outlet for aviation enthusiasts to gather and learn about aviation related issues, discuss safety concerns among general aviation, and share hangar stories of flying.
The City of Dallas operates a top-level regional airport (KRBD) located minutes from downtown Dallas off of Highway 67. The towered airport has two runways, two flying schools, two FBOs and numerous A+Ps. Yet, with all the activity at the airport, there are no aircraft available for pilots who do not own their own plane. The flying club provides a way for aviators to access a local plane for a fraction of the cost of owning and maintaining a personal aircraft.
